Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Duograde ("the service"). By using the service you agree to them.

What Duograde does

Duograde produces AI-assisted draft marks and feedback for student work against your rubric or judgment. Results are a decision-support tool, not final or authoritative grades. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs — especially flagged items — and for the marks you ultimately award.

Your account

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be an educator or otherwise authorised to grade the work you upload.

Acceptable use

• Only upload work you have the right to process, in line with your institution's policies and applicable law.
• Don't use the service unlawfully, to infringe others' rights, or to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it.
• You are responsible for disclosing AI assistance where your institution requires it.

Plans and payment

• Grading is included in a subscription (Educator or Educator Plus, billed monthly or annually), subject to a fair-use limit of the number of scripts stated on the pricing page per calendar month. Unused allowance does not carry over. New accounts receive a small free allowance. Dry runs are free.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the billing page; plan changes are prorated and cancellations take effect at the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
• Plans are for a single educator's own marking: one person per account, and the allowance may not be pooled or shared. We may limit or suspend accounts that appear to be shared; departments and institutions should contact us for a suitable arrangement.
• Subscribers may buy one-time top-up packs of additional scripts. Top-ups do not expire, are used after the monthly allowance, and are non-refundable except where required by law.
• Scripts that cannot be read or are skipped are not counted against your allowance.
• Credits bought under our earlier pay-per-script packs remain valid and are used after any subscription allowance.
• Prices may change; changes take effect from your next renewal and we will notify you in advance.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is". AI-generated marks and feedback may contain errors and must be reviewed before use. We do not warrant that outputs are accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Duograde is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made in reliance on its outputs. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding three months.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or misuse of the service. You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time.

Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
